Short version: The desktop app collects nothing — all processing stays on your machine. For the online service, we collect only what we need to run it. We never sell your data. Your images are deleted after 7 days. You can delete your account anytime.
Desktop Application — No Data Collected
The BBZ Image Tool desktop application operates entirely on your local computer. It does not transmit your images, filenames, folder names, or any personal data to our servers during normal operation. All image processing — renaming, resizing, cropping, and editing — happens on your machine only. The only network activity from the desktop app is an optional check for software updates.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and encrypted password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, expiry date, or CVV. We only receive a payment confirmation and a Stripe customer ID.
Images you upload
Images you upload for background removal are temporarily stored on our servers. Original images are deleted immediately after processing. Processed results are deleted after 7 days. We do not view, analyze, or use your images for any purpose other than providing the Service.
Usage data
We collect basic usage data such as the number of images processed, dates and times of processing, and credit balance history. This helps us improve the Service and detect abuse.
How We Use Your Information
Providing the Service
We use your information to create and manage your account, process images, manage your credit balance, and send you receipts and download links.
Communication
We use your email address to send receipts, processing notifications, and product updates. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time from your account settings.
Security
We use your information to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to the Service.

Service providers
We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service: Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (cloud storage and computing), and SendGrid (email delivery). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Processed images are deleted after 7 days. Original uploaded images are deleted immediately after processing. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Credit transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile information from your account settings. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, visit your account settings or contact us. If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics that track you across other websites. You can disable cookies in your browser but this may prevent you from staying signed in.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, AWS S3 server-side encryption for stored files, and secure JWT tokens for authentication. No security system is perfect, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
