This Privacy Policy explains how BBZ Image Tool, Inc. ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information through bbzimagetool.com, the BBZ Image Tool desktop application and our online services (together, the "Service").
Short version: The desktop app's free tools collect nothing — that processing stays on your machine. For the online services, we collect only what we need to run them. We never sell your data. Background-removal images are deleted after 7 days and Catalog Builder photos after 30 days. Catalog Builder photos are sent to our AI provider only to write your drafts. You can close your account anytime.
Desktop Application — No Data Collected
The BBZ Image Tool desktop application operates entirely on your local computer. Its free tools do not transmit your images, filenames, folder names, or any personal data to our servers. All of that processing — renaming, resizing, cropping, and editing — happens on your machine only. Network activity from the desktop app is limited to an optional check for software updates and to any online feature you choose to use, such as background removal, which sends only the images you select to our servers, as described below.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and encrypted password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, expiry date, or CVV. We only receive a payment confirmation and a Stripe customer ID.
Images you upload for background removal
Images you upload for background removal, and the processed results, are stored on our servers so you can download them, and are deleted after 7 days. We do not view, analyze, or use your images for any purpose other than providing the Service.
Photos and details you upload to the Catalog Builder
Lot photos you upload to the Catalog Builder, and the catalog details you enter or approve (such as titles, descriptions, categories, prices and consignor codes), are stored on our servers so you can review and download your catalog. Lot photos are deleted 30 days after upload. Catalog text stays in your account until you delete the sale or close your account.
Messages you send us
When you use the support or suggestion forms, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply.
Usage data
We collect basic usage data such as the number of images processed, dates and times of processing, and credit balance history. This helps us improve the Service and detect abuse.
How We Use Your Information
Providing the Service
We use your information to create and manage your account, process images, manage your credit balance, and send you receipts and download links.
Communication
We use your email address to send receipts, download links, account messages (such as a reminder to confirm your email), and occasional product updates. Every product-update email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out at any time by contacting us. Receipts and account messages are sent regardless, because they are part of the Service.
Security
We use your information to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to the Service.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your data
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Service providers
We share information with service providers who help us operate the Service: Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (cloud storage and computing), SendGrid (email delivery), Anthropic (the AI that writes Catalog Builder drafts), and Google (sign in with Google, reCAPTCHA spam protection, and Google Analytics). Each receives only what it needs for its part of the Service.
AI processing in the Catalog Builder
When you ask the Catalog Builder to write a lot, the lot photos and your writing settings for that lot are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the draft. We do not use your photos or catalog content to train AI models.
Spam protection
Our sign-up and contact forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which collects information about your device and browser to tell people from automated programs. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Background-removal uploads and results are deleted after 7 days. Catalog Builder lot photos are deleted 30 days after upload. When you close your account in Account settings, it is deactivated right away and your email address is removed from it; to have the rest of your data deleted, contact us. Payment and credit transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your name from your account settings and close your account there. To request a copy of your data or deletion of all associated data, contact us. If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in to your account. Our service providers also set cookies when you use their features: Stripe during checkout (to process payments and prevent fraud) and Google for Sign in with Google and reCAPTCHA spam protection. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand how visitors use the website (for example, which pages are visited); Google may collect this information across the websites that use its services. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may prevent you from staying signed in or paying.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for responding to it, so the Service does not currently change its behavior when it receives one. You can still control cookies and opt out of Google Analytics as described above.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, AWS S3 server-side encryption for stored files, and secure JWT tokens for authentication. No security system is perfect, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
